"The cabin we stayed in was incredible!! Bill and Karen were great hosts. I was looking for a place to take my three-year-old daughter on an adventure and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. She enjoyed feeding the deer with our host Bill. We went canoeing and swimming in the beautiful waters surrounding the property. The place was very secluded and so relaxing. I will definitely be back the next time I visit the area. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Thanks to Bill and Karen for the southern hospitality."

"We had a lovely stay at the cabin! It's not a secluded cabin- expect to see the hosts or berry pickers in the areas adjacent to the cabin. But the cabin space is beautiful and the canoes and private beach are really special. We loved our experience there."

"The owners (Bill & Karen) were outstanding hosts. They are the definition of Southern hospitality. The house is beautiful, it's very well stocked and is all that Bill has in the listing. Bill met us on the first night. He discovered that one daughter loves animals and made sure she was able to help with the deer he raises. They have a blueberry field next to the house and allowed us to pick blueberries. We made blueberry pancakes, muffins, and a dump cake. Bill made blueberry tarts for the whole family - outstanding! The property is next to Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge. I was able to hike every day, some days I just hiked the road in front of the house, no traffic and a great hike."

"Wonderful, restful stay. The property is beautiful and very secluded. The cabin was very nice and spacious. Best rest we've had in a long time. The hosts were so warm and friendly and it was such a pleasure to spend time with them and get to know them. Hope to come back again in the future!"

"Spent the long Easter weekend at this beautiful serene place! Boys got to fish and the girls spent time walking the trails and enjoying the outdoors at its finest. Lovely log cabin home nestled in the woods made it the perfect place for our family. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway!"
~ Donna C.

"We cannot say enough good things about this vacation rental, nor the hospitality of Bill and Karen. They were extremely accommodating, especially given our red-eye flight and late (or early morning I guess) arrival. The property is just as wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the deer and paddling around the lake in the canoe. We only wish we had more time to spend in the serene setting. The cabin was clean and comfortable and I had the best nights sleep there that I’ve had in a long time. Thank you again for a very memorable vacation!!"

"We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, comfortable place to stay. Our hosts were welcoming and wonderful. We'd stay here again any time!"
~ Shirley D.

"What an amazing week we had with Bill and Karen, our gracious hosts! Following Bill's directions, we found our cheerfully lit up cabin in the dark of night. We met Bill the following morning, and he loaded the kids up in his four-wheeler and took them for a ride first thing. The rest of the week was just heaven, with kids exploring the woods, fishing off of Bill & Karen's deck, eating dinner on the patio, and night fires in the evening - along with stars the kids had never seen in the city!

The log home was just perfect for us, with our kids & grandkids upstairs, and a quiet bed and bath downstairs for us. I can't think of a thing that would have made it better, except to stay longer and not bother going into town! Thank you so much, Bill and Karen.....we will be back!!

P.S. Bill makes a special dessert that is out of this world yummy!"

"A quiet, secluded, 3 bedrooms cabin/full house, tucked away on a deer farm only an hour from New Orleans with its own canoes and dock is a marvelous getaway for the adventurous or the wood-be mature lover. It's a fun place. We enjoyed it very much."
~ Charles G.

"Exhale. Slow down. Sleep in after staying up late to wonder at the stars.

This is a beautiful escape. The cabin is wonderful and comfy with every cooking utensil you could want, sofas that demand you accidentally fall asleep on them and views of a blueberry grove, the woods or the deer wherever you look.

A few highlights from a stay in January: hearing the cacophony of a barred owl one night (I had no idea what the amazing sound was), watching a holly tree fill with 20+ robins feasting on the berries (I didn't know they did that), helping to feed the deer and watching how amazingly fast a wonderful old dog could run down the road, walking for hours without ever leaving the property, taking in the sights and sounds and pausing for a sitdown on a sunny beach. I even got to help retrieve chicken eggs from the coop.

This is the kind of place that makes 4 days feel like a week and a week feel like heaven. I didn't want to leave.

The owners are very friendly and just down the gravel road if you need anything. As a Mom traveling alone for an overdue break, this is exactly what I needed and more than I had even hoped for."

"We had a wonderful time at Bill’s place. We loved canoeing on the bayou and swimming in the lake! The house is very spacious and well stocked with anything we could need."
~ Hannah

"A clean and quiet getaway. The property was a little piece of Heaven. The cabin was AMAZING. The deer are so adorable and the fresh eggs are amazing. The trails on property and lakes bring peace into your soul. We will definitely be back."
~ Emilee

"Bill and Karen’s cabin is awesome! The surroundings around the cabin are tranquil. Top-notch blueberry farm and unbelievable deer farm. I spent several hours just sitting outside and watching deer and all the wildlife. If you are in for an adventure this is the place. Very remote trails around his property which is about a 2-mile trip. You encounter very unusual things for a remote trail such as a pavilion and a beach. Bill also provided canoes to venture out into the Pearl River Canal which borders the Bogue Chitto National Refuge. There is also an unbelievably nice boat launch with ramp there. We will be back at a cooler time! Thanks, Bill and Karen for sharing your cabin!"
~ Chad

"This place is heaven on earth and well worth the drive off the beaten path. So many bushes, you’ll fill up your bucket in no time. Tons of fuzzy bumblebees and birds everywhere plus very (very, very) friendly kitties to pet."
~ Meghan V.

"Amazing gem!!! Berries are fantastic. Just went today and they are at their prime."
~ Megan G.

"We had a wonderful time today picking our berries, June 25th. Yes, it was hot, so earlier is better. We met the owner and he suggested evenings too. We picked 2 buckets and there are still many berries left. Very peaceful. Lots of bird sounds. Visit the deer behind the farm. Hurry before the season is over."
~ Karen D.

"We actually found it by accident. So glad we did. Very peaceful. Plenty of berries. Loved watching the deer too. We will definitely go back. Can’t wait for muscadines!!"
~ Robin F.

"We have been enjoying Sunhillow for a few years now! Picked four times this year and will be making jam and wine with our bounty!"
~ Debbie S.

"We had a great time picking berries! Trees are mature and producing a lot of fruit. This will be our #1 berry place! Thank you. We will be back!"
~ Elizabeth S.

"We had a great time! Filled two 1-gallon buckets quick; the berries just came off in bunches. We tipped a few extra bucks for the ones we ate along the way."
